About Compatool
A SaaS comparison site for buyers who want to read the source.
Most SaaS comparison content reads like it was written by the marketing team of one of the products being compared. Pricing pages are paywalled behind a "talk to sales" form. Review aggregators publish a 4.6-star average without telling you who the 200 reviewers actually are. The buyer is left guessing.
Compatool is the small site we wanted to read when we were the buyer. Every claim on every page links back to a primary source: the vendor's own pricing page, official documentation, a public changelog, an SEC filing, an author's byline. If we can't link it, we don't write it.
The catalog is intentionally narrow. We'd rather cover thirty tools properly than three hundred badly. The five fields that appear on every product page — summary, best for, not ideal for, pricing, integrations — are the same fields a careful buyer would write down on the back of a napkin before getting on a sales call.
Compatool runs on Cloudflare Workers and is published from a public repository. The comparison engine, the schemas, and the build pipeline are all open. If you spot a wrong number, the fastest thing to do is open an issue.
